Climate change and environmental impact is a topic that nowadays is on everyone’s mind. And rightfully so. Part of EasyIO’s mission is to help build a more sustainable world. The start of this is in small and often personal things.

At our European headquarters, two thirds of the employees commute by foot or bike whenever possible. Half of the ones coming by car will be switching to full electric vehicles in the next months. 

Recently there has been a lot of discussion on the use of plastic and its impact on the environment. Much of the plastic ends up in our oceans, degrading into micro plastics. Initiatives like the Ocean Cleanup are trying to reduce the amount of waste in rivers and oceans, but it’s always better to start at the source; the actual use of throwaway plastics. While at EasyIO our daily coffee was already consumed in recycled paper cups, we still saw some plastic bottles being used. Recently we have introduced EasyIO branded “Dopper” bottles, which can now be found on all of the desks and already at some of our partners too!

No more plastic waste, but a handy reusable bottle that looks great as well.

Besides everyone’s personal contribution, EasyIO aims to empower our partners to make an impact as well. EasyIO controllers and tooling enable them to develop building control strategies that reduce the energy consumption of buildings, without compromising on comfort and living conditions. The open approach to our platform ensures close cooperation with (and between) our partners. This in turn reflects how stopping climate change can only be done when everyone contributes.
